DIY Washi Tape Pop Floral Art
I was playing with tape and testing out new shapes over the weekend, and before I knew it, I'd grown a garden of colourful pop florals. Simple shapes, bold colours, lots of fun!
This is just a really simple example of working with washi tape on one of those pre-stretched canvases you can pick up at your local craft/art store. Would love to see what you dream up when you apply tape to canvas.
In the meantime, here's a look at how I did it...
Start by applying thin strips of washi tape in varying heights - these will become the stems of your flowers.
Cut shapes out of washi tape covered parchment / waxed paper. Any shape will do - from actual flower shapes to circles, whatever you fancy. Add centres and stamens in a contrasting colour.
Add leaves in varying shapes and lengths.
Fun, right?!
My favourite thing about this project? The tape easily peels off leaving you with a literally blank canvas to create on over and over again. I think this would be a fantastic project to do with kids or a fun way to create simple artwork for a kids room.
Happy crafting!
