The nice thing about washi tape is that it can make even the simplest of shapes into something special. I was playing around with a couple of our new washi tape designs and crafted up these sweet washi tape cottage cards - complete with doors which swing open. Perfect for wishing someone congratulations on their new home but also appropriate for any occasion!
Simply fold a piece of cardstock in half (I used scrapbook paper) and cut the top into a house silhouette. Try using a bone folder to get a nice clean fold or even start with a blank card like these. Apply your favourite washi tape to the roof, a different design to the chimney and a third to create a door. If desired, cut the left and top sides of the door and score the right side with your bone folder. Voila, a door which really opens! Perfect for a peekaboo message.
Have you used washi tape to create any cards lately?
